Make sure:

  • the onboarding task already exists
  • you have permission to manage onboarding work
  • the user you want to assign is the correct owner for the task

Steps

1. Open the relevant Onboarding Dashboard 2. Locate the onboarding task you want to assign 3. Find the Owner or assignment control 4. Select the user who should own the task 5. Save the change if needed

What happens next

After assignment:

  • the task is updated with the new owner
  • the assignee may receive a notification
  • the activity timeline may record the assignment change
  • the task appears under the correct ownership grouping on onboarding views

Best practice

Assign tasks to the person who can directly move the work forward. Avoid assigning tasks only for visibility if that person is not the real owner.
