Screen sections
1. Page header
The header confirms that you are in the approvals area and provides context about governed actions and decision workflows.
2. View selector
The view selector usually lets users switch between:
- Inbox
- My Requests
Inbox is for requests assigned to you. My Requests is for requests you submitted.
3. Status filters
Status filters help narrow visible requests by state, such as:
- all
- pending
- approved
- rejected
- cancelled
- expired
4. Approval request list
The request list shows visible approval items and may include title, description, type, status, and timing information.
5. Expiry information
Where configured, expiry information shows how long an approval remains actionable before it expires.
6. Decision comment area
When reviewing a pending request, the decision comment area allows the approver to provide rationale before approving or rejecting.
7. Action buttons
Action buttons may include:
- Approve
- Reject
- Cancel
Availability depends on whether you are the approver or the requester and on the current status of the request.
8. Attachment area
Where supported, attachments provide supporting files for the approval request.
How to use this screen
A common approver workflow is:
1. filter to pending approvals 2. open the request 3. review details, attachments, and expiry 4. enter a decision comment 5. approve or reject
A common requester workflow is:
1. switch to My Requests 2. review submitted items 3. monitor status 4. cancel a pending request if no longer needed
Best practice
Use decision comments consistently so requesters understand the basis for the approval or rejection.
