Common reasons you may not be receiving expected notifications, and how to fix them.
If you are not receiving expected notifications in NxtLayr, this guide explains the most common reasons and how to fix them.
Common issues
I am not seeing in-app notifications
Check:
- your notification preferences in Settings
- whether the notification category is enabled
- whether the event actually happened in your scope
- whether you are signed in to the correct account
I am not receiving email notifications
Check:
- email notification preferences are enabled
- the category is supported for email delivery
- spam or junk folders
- whether your account email is correct
My notification bell count looks wrong
Try:
- opening the Notifications page
- marking individual items as read
- using Mark all read
- refreshing the page if needed
I expected a notification for an assignment or approval but did not receive one
Check:
- whether you were actually assigned as the owner or approver
- whether the event type is enabled in preferences
- whether the item changed from one owner to another or was already assigned to you
Best practice
Keep important assignment and approval categories enabled, especially if you directly own operational work.
