If comments or timeline updates are not appearing as expected, this guide explains what to check.

Common issues

My comment did not appear

Check:

  • the comment was actually submitted
  • your session is still active
  • the work item supports comments
  • you have permission to add activity

I changed status but do not see a timeline update

Some timeline entries are system-generated. Refresh the page and check again. If the change saved but no activity appeared, contact support or your administrator.

I do not see any activity section

Not every page or item type shows activity in the same way. Make sure you are on a supported work item such as onboarding tasks, requested apps, or custom discovery requests.

Best practice

Use comments for meaningful context, not only acknowledgments. A clear comment is more useful to the next reviewer than a short note with no explanation.
